Justhost supports both shared and dedicated SSL certificate. Shared SSL is available on all accounts but it is better to get dedicated SSL certificate because you will get the site seal and the internet browser won’t issue a warning when visitor access your site. To order a SSL cert from justhost email their support: support@justhost.com. Dedicated IP address will be required and it is available for $19.95 a year.
SSL
SSL is secure sockets layer, a secure transport mechanism for data. Data is encrypted while it travels, making it very difficult for someone to view it. This is very important for sites where important information is posted (credit cards, social numbers, passwords or other). The customer is more confident when he access your site with the https prefix and sees the site seal. Site seal also verifies that the site is the one the user is accessing preventing fishing. If you have an ecommerce site a dedicated SSL certificate is a must.

Justhost nameservers are:
ns1.pipedns.com
ns2.pipedns.com
ns3.pipedns.com
At your current domain registrar you should put these namerservers in order your website to be hosted on justhost. After you apply the nameservers there is a typical 48-72 hours propagation until all DNS servers worldwide are updated.
Nameservers and DNS
Nameservers are part of the so-called Domain Name System (DNS for short). They are responsible for mapping IP addresses to domain names. Humans invented this system because numbers are hard to remember. Instead a names are very easy to remember. That it is how the .com era begun. Only two nameservers are required for each domain but there can be more. These are called authoritative nameservers, ones that are responsible for certain domain name. Once a domain name is resolved the application (internet browser) connects to the web server and request the page. Once it downloads the page it renders the code and it shows it to the user.

phpBB is a forum software for creating online communities. It is free and licensed under GNU GPL license and written in PHP web programming language. Currently is the most popular free forum solution software and competes with popular products like vbulletin (commercial), simple machines (free), mybb and others.
phpbb was designed to allow new features to be added without altering core code. This is done via modifications (mods) that extend the functionality of phpBB. Design is separated from code and it allows you to easily change the look of your forum via phpbb style manager. There are thousands of free templates and modifications available.
To run a phpbb forum you will need a web server with PHP and MySQL (other database systems are supported too: postgresql, ms sql, oracle and others) installed. PHP and MySQL are the most common on shared hosting platforms.
Justhost phpBB
Justhost account is setup perfectly so you can run phpBB without any problems. You even don’t need to upload any files or create databases, but use Fantastico to install phpBB in 3 steps. I recommend justhost as phpBB host.

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a standard protocol for transferring data(files or folders) over the internet. FTP also supports other commands too including changing permissions, creating folders, deleting files, moving files and other related tasks. It requires client and server to work. Most popular client is FileZilla, free software, and is available on linux, windows and mac computers. FTP is good for transferring large number of files/directories, for small changes you should use the File Manager cPanel tool.
Justhost FTP
Justhost offers FTP to its customers. You can have unlimited accounts, and each account can have specific permissions and quota (transfer of megabytes allowed). Accounts can be created in cPanel control panel, where you can also edit them. This is good if you want to give your friends or clients accounts with specific settings and access to some parts of your website.

Today wordpress is the most popular blogging/weblog software available. It is free and licensed under the GNU General Public License, which gives your freedom to change and redistribute the code or simply just use it to create blogs. Created by Matt Mullenweg in 2003, have become the most popular publishing platform installed on more than 202 million web sites worldwide (source wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WordPress). WordPress software itself is programmed in PHP (HyperText Preprocessor – dynamic web programming language), so it requires a php hosting platform and MySQL (open-source relational database management system). WordPress have many features making not just blog platform, but a powerful content management system. Some of the features are: content management (text/media/video), RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds for posts and comments, static pages (e.g about page), user registration and management with permissions, post comments, blog communication tools like pingbacks and trackbacks, widgets support and others. You will particularly like the template systems which separates design from actual code. There is built-in theme editor if you want to make changes to the current theme, and theme preview/switcher where you can change the template. Widgets are little blocks that contain some information (like for example menu links or photos) and can be placed on the sidebar if the theme is widget-ready. The powerful extension system (wordpress plugins) is where developers add new functions to the core ones. For example there is the flickr plugin where you can post the latest photos from your flickr stream in your posts or as a widget block in your sidebar. Once you have installed wordpress you will fall in love with it.

Drupal is free and open-source content management software like Joomla and WordPress, created by Dries Buytaert. It offers many features and allows you to create almost any type of website whether it would be blogs, personal, corporate, social and even governments use drupal because it is powerful, stable, fast system. Modules system is supported, where users or developers may add new features or upgrade/update existing ones. At drupal.org/project/modules you will find many free modules and use them to configure your site to your liking. Drupal supports several theme systems among them phptemplate, smarty and others. This systems allow you to easily change the design of your website and allows logic (programming code) to be separated from the design, which is super feature. Free themes can be found on the official and other websites.
Other standard features supported are: RSS feeds, blogs, user management system with permissions setup, news aggregators, internationalization (available in many languages), threaded comments, logging/reporting and many others.
The standard and official version (drupal core) is available on drupal.org, where also any news and developments are also posted. There is large community of users/programmers/tester and bugs are fixed fast and posted as a patch. In my test on JustHost drupal was running without any problems. I installed it manually by downloadin it from http://drupal.org/project/drupal . Clean urls are supported, and everything runs smooth, and I may tell that JustHost is good drupal host.

PHP is the most popular web scripting language, mostly used for for creating dynamic web sites, web applications or internet services, but can also be used for creating desktop applications. More than 20 million websites (source wikipedia and netcraft) are powered by PHP (HyperText Preprocessor, previously Personal Home Page Tools), and many popular sites are using it (wikipedia, google, yahoo and others). In the recent years it has become very popular because of WordPress (weblog), Joomla (content management system -cms), Drupal (CMS), phpbb (forum software) and other free open-source scripts. It is simple language, yet very powerful. It can output different content (html, pdf, flash, even video! and other). Also offers many functions for manipulating data, databases etc, and with PHP 5 version more object-oriented programming features have been introduced. PHP code can be integrated into HTML files, or any other files (except binary) with the tags <?php
//php code
?>
and if your server is correctly setup, it will parse the code that’s inside those tags. PHP often comes in bundle with Apache and MySQL, called LAMP (Linux Apache MySQL, PHP) stack, and most PHP Hosting companies offer this kind of setup, including JustHost. This wordpress blog is powered by PHP and MySQL with Apache server on linux operating system environment and it is the best test for PHP on JustHost. One other features Justhost.com offers is support for custom PHP.ini files which can come in handy when installing CMS scripts like drupal who require register_globals to be turned off.
